Service-disabled veteran-owned small business

Built by a small business, for small businesses

PhurFriend is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB). That is not a marketing line — it shapes who we build for and how we sell.

Veteran-owned businesses are heavily represented in the trades, and contractors working federal and state jobs deal with the same paperwork we do: prevailing wage determinations, weekly certified payroll, retainage held until acceptance, and a bonding agent who wants a current WIP schedule. We built the compliance side of this product because it is the part nobody else at this price does — and because we understood the paperwork before we wrote a line of it.

Why this exists

A contractor finishes a job, the invoices get paid, and only then does anyone work out that it lost money. It is not carelessness. The generic bookkeeping tools cannot do job costing without setup nobody maintains, and the purpose-built systems want twenty to forty hours of training and several hundred dollars a month before anyone has touched them.

There is a gap between a shoe box and an enterprise system, and almost every contractor doing one to ten million dollars a year is sitting in it.
